Production Supervisor

Position Overview:
Provide effective shift leadership and supervision of personnel to ensure second shift production goals are met. Train and develop personnel, perform employee appraisals, resolve work relations issues and build a strong manufacturing team on assigned shift.
Essential Functions

  • Manage and direct shift manufacturing personnel and ensure proper methods and procedures are followed to achieve business plan objectives and customer satisfaction.

  • Support key plant manufacturing initiatives in new product launch, cost reduction, process improvement, quality improvement, delivery and inventory reduction.

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of all processes in shop and assurance of a trained workforce. Utilize process knowledge to contribute to the plan of meeting Customer orders and documenting accordingly.

  • Demonstrates a clear understanding of work schedule and effectively manages personnel to meet expectations of safety, quality, and on time delivery. Processes Yearly Merit Reviews for associates in shift.

  • Understands and performs higher responsibilities involving plant security and proper plant shutdown.

  • Develops standard work for the area and follow through accordingly so that all requirements are met, related to safety, quality, process, PM, and personnel.

  • Provide shift-to-shift communication with required personnel in order to highlight key daily operational issues and objectives.

  • Communicates with all departments including Safety, Quality, Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, HR and other cells/shifts to ensure all aspects of processing work can be done by the teams.

  • Actively support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs.

  • Leads by example on Safety, Quality, 5S, Lean, Tooling, and PM programs- involved directly with all programs to identify corrective action items.

  • Maintain a safe plant working environment with good housekeeping practices.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Quality and Environmental systems by following stated policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate?s degree (AS) or one or more years of related experience and/or training in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor?s degree (BA).

  • 5 or more years of experience supervising a staff of 10 or more employees.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Will on occasion be exposed to information that is considered confidential, personal or sensitive in nature. Maintenance of this trust and confidentiality must be maintained.

  • Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with and consider input from supervisor, coworkers and members from other areas of the business

  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.

  • General knowledge of connector manufacturing processes; molding, stamping, plating and assembly

  • General knowledge of tooling, electromechanical, pneumatics and troubleshooting production and assembly equipment.

  • Effective interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization

  • Development of subordinates through training and job instruction

  • Good decision-making ability

  • Organizational skills to create and maintain an orderly and organized operation

  • Strong communication skills with subordinates and all areas of management

  • Proficient word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, SAP computer skills

  • Project management skills that demonstrate the ability to set goals and priorities in order to complete projects in a systematic and timely manner
    Presentation development and speaking delivery skills for internal and external employee, customer and supplier audiences.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
