We are currently hiring Seasonal - Public Works Part-Time Worker/Laborers to join the Village of Monee Public Works Team.
The ideal team member for this position will be a face of our Public Works team and will act as a representative of the department.
Seasonal - Public Works Part-Time Worker/Laborer Class specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by employees in the class.

Summary Description Under general supervision of the Superintendent of Public Works, Public Works Executive Assistant and Superintendent Assistant, performs a variety of duties in support of the City's Public Works Department.
Representative Duties The following duties are typical for this classification, incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
1.
Responsible for the operation of a variety of construction and maintenance equipment.
2.
Manual labor activities as directed and needed as required by the Public Work Department.
3.
Park grounds maintenance 4.
Grounds care including, mowing grass, pruning trees and hedges; planting trees as required, clean up litter and empty trash cans as required.
5.
Road maintenance 6.
Road care including sweeping and clean up materials from roads, as well as snow and ice removal including manual snow shoveling.
7.
Maintenance of sanitary and storm sewers including repairs and/or conducting maintenance procedures.
8.
Assisting sign crews for Village maintenance projects 9.
All other Public Works' related work.
Minimum Qualifications The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned with a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.
Ability to interact with others including the public in a reasonable and courteous manner Ability to work within a chain of command Ability to demonstrate personal discipline qualities to perform required work Ability to lift and /or carry up to 90 lbs.
Ability to work independently or as a team Physical ability to sit, walk, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch Possession of good safety awareness and judgment in all aspects of the position and wear provided safety equipment as required.
Ability to communicate effectively Must be honest, trustworthy and reliable Availability for after hour call out emergencies, including but not limited to, snowfall, floods, downed trees or as deemed necessary by the Public Work Department.
Education and/or Other Requirements Minimum - High School diploma or GED equivalent Must be a minimum of 18 years old Must possess a valid Driver's License Additional consideration for Class B CDL Licensure Physical Demands:
